On 18 August 2026, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pornthep Benyaapikul, Director of the Bachelor of Economics International Program, representing the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University, met with executives of PwC Thailand alongside representatives of Thammasat University — led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Orapan Yolrabil, Vice Rector for Strategic Collaboration and Enterprise Value Creation, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ratchada Kongkachan, Assistant to the Rector for Academic Affairs, and deans from various faculties — at Bangkok City Tower. The meeting aimed to lay out a strategic partnership framework for developing people and knowledge, and building on the university's potential to generate concrete economic and social value.

During the discussion, participants exchanged ideas on collaboration across several dimensions, with an emphasis on connecting knowledge from academia and the business sector. These included partnering with Thammasat University in the area of Data Business, developing new tax-related courses, and organizing activities and workshops to strengthen students' business management skills, preparing them for the working world and for future entrepreneurship.

Another notable direction discussed was jointly designing new courses on taxation and business skills for the younger generation, giving students the opportunity to learn directly from experts and real-world business experience — spanning taxation, finance, law, and business administration, all of which are essential knowledge for starting a career, building a business, and planning and managing one's own future.

The meeting also covered plans for a STEM Plus Business Workshop, intended to add a "business perspective" for students in science, technology, engineering, and innovation fields. The workshop aims to help students apply their specialized knowledge to business contexts, understand market needs, communicate the value of their work, and develop their ideas into innovations or businesses capable of creating concrete impact.

At the same time, PwC Thailand expressed interest in Thammasat University's newer academic programs, particularly the SUMA program, which integrates knowledge from multiple disciplines related to sustainability. This aligns with the university's ONE TU concept and values, which aim to foster collaboration across disciplines and units within the university to jointly build knowledge and personnel capable of addressing the challenges of the modern world.

This discussion marks another important step in building collaboration between Thammasat University and PwC Thailand, connecting the potential of academia and the business sector to develop skills and knowledge that meet the needs of the working world — creating opportunities for students to learn from real-world experience and apply that knowledge to generate value for the economy and society going forward.
